El efecto sorpresa esloveno

If there was something I liked from Slovenia, from the first time, it was What I,ve called the "surprise effect". May be you think this theory is a silly thing...well...that's your opinion man, and it's ok too...

In Spain, when I get out for a walk, anywhere, although I dont know the place, I've the sensation that the enviroment is always the same and very predictable. After a house there is other house, after a shop there is another shop, all the "terracitas" are in the same zone, and In the carrefour you are gonna to find a carrefour and a Mac Donalds. That's respect the urban enviromment. Respect the "natural" enviromment (if we can call it so in this "inmobiliario" country), just say, I think it doesn exist.

Well, in Slovenia, as I have said, I realized very fast about this "surprise effect", and until the day before leaving the country, we were discovering fantastic places in the most hidden corner.


I will start to talk about this with a Novo Mesto example:

After getting down one slope, there is a super basket pitch (free), but wait, this is not the surprise effect. You keep walking, turn right, pass down a very very very 70s bridge, and voila! The paradise at your feet! There is Krka river, a beautiful wood and only for pedestrian bridge, a wood quay, a beautiful road next to the river (may be this road takes you to another surprise, haha) and finally, the big suprise...

....¡¡¡Loka Gostilna!!!! (Is it well-written???). And...what's Loka Gostilna??? Well, it's suppossed to be our favourite restaurant in the city, but more that this...The coffe bar with the best best best cakes in whole Novo Mesto...In a beauuuuuuuuuutiful place!! In a great "terracita" besides the river and full of trees and ducks (hahaha)

As you will imagine, once we discovered this place, we got fans and the best clients..hahah! But it took us a lot to find this surprise, because it was three months after we took Novo Mesto when we found Loka Gostilna...and same with many things more...

Si hay algo que me gustó desde el primer momento de Eslovenia, fue lo que he llamado "el efecto sorpresa". Me explico y seguramente a mucha gente esta teoría mía le parece una chorrada, pero en fin, tiene que haber gente para opinar de todo, ¿no? Y yo opino así.


Aquí, cuando salgo a pasear por cualquier lugar, aún sin conocer el sitio, tengo la sensación de que el paisaje y sus elementos es 100% predecible. Detrás de una casa viene otra casa, detrás de una tienda viene otra tienda, y todas las terrazas están en la misma zona de terrazas apelotonadas, en el carrefour vas a encontrar el carrefour y un mac donalds. Eso en lo que respecta al paisaje urbano. En lo que respecta al paisaje más "natural" de las ciudades, simplemente decir que por lo general, este es inexistente, ya que no llamo yo "natural" a un cacho de cesped entre dos de cemento.


Bueno, pues como digo, en Eslovenia enseguida nos percatamos de este "efecto sorpresa", y hasta el último día estuvimos descubriendo lugares hasta en los rincones más insospechados.

Para inaugurar esta sección, empiezo con un ejemplo de Novo Mesto:


Tras bajar una empinada cuesta, aparece una super cancha de baloncesto (gratuita), pero este no es el efecto sorpresa. Sigues caminando, doblas la curva de la calle, pasas por debajo de un super puente de cemento, bastante bastante feo, y voila! El paraiso a tus pies...Aparece el río Krka, una preciosidad de puente peatonal de madera, un embarcadero también de madera, un camino bucólico paralelo al río (que vete a saber a dónde llevaba, a otra sorpresa seguramente) y la guinda a esta sorpresa...

¡¡¡Aparece "Loka Golstina" (creo que se escribe así)!!!! ¿Y qué es Loka Gostilna??? Pues vino a ser el mejor restaurante de la ciudad, pero más allá de eso...el café con las mejores mejores mejores tartas de Novo Mesto...en un emplazamiento bellísííímo!! En una terracita junto al río y rodeado de árboles...

Como es lógico, una vez que descubrimos este lugar, nos hicimos asiduos. Eso sí, tardamos en encontrarlo unos tres meses desde que llegamos a Novomesto...Y así con muchas más cosas...
