La mejor manera para llegar a Eslovenia desde España es, seguramente, vía Venecia. Vueling ofrece vuelos bastante baratos desde Madrid y Barcelona a buen precio.
Aeropuerto Marco Polo y estacion de tren de venecia están unidos por autobús urbano. Luego, tomas el tren directo que sale de la Estación de Santa Lucía y voilá, te bajas en Ljubljana estación, jeje. Yo desde luego prefiero ir en tren, porque la verdad, la autopista que une Venecia con Trieste me da bastante yuyu (miedo) ya que la circulación es muy densa y llena de camiones.
Esta página es muy practica porque te busca horarios y combinaciones de trenes en Europa.
Otra opción ofrecida por Spanair es viajar vía Zagreb, directo desde Barcelona. Seguramente comprándolo con tiempo salga bien de precio, y la conexión en tren es bastante buena o incluso en coche de alquiler, ya que entre las dos capitales sólo hay 140 km que se pueden hacer en apenas dos horas!

Creo q no te haría falta ir hasta venecia. Seguro que desde trieste tienes autobuses o trenes... te recomiendo que preguntes mejor allí, en las estaciones respectivas
